The rewards of volunteering for First Call for Help 211 are learning more about the community and its resources.  The major reward is helping the people in need to obtain their desired resource.  Could you be that link?  We are needing volunteers for the following:

Telephone Specialists

Assist callers with referrals for various needs in the community.

Database Maintenance

Assist in keeping records filed and updated.

Office Assistant

Assist with filing, shredding, making phone calls and other tasks.

Seasonal Registrar

Assist in registering children to receive school supplies and holiday gifts.

Special Events Coordination

Assist with invitations, public service announcements, outreach, decorations and menus for special events hosted by First Call for Help

Outreach Coordination

Help First Call for Help reach out to residents, agencies and businesses to spread the word about 2-1-1.  Make phone calls, distribute materials and visit locations throughout Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson and Scott counties.

Student Volunteers

First Call for Help has benefited from the HIP program through Columbus North High School and college interns through IUPUC.  Interns are involved in a variety of tasks that are detailed above.  If you are a student and would like to contribute to First Call for Help for community service credit, please contact your advisor.
